Winner of the Blackstone Works on Paper Prize

I was thrilled to win the 2022 Blackstone Works on Paper Prize out of 400 entries by judges Wendy Sharpe, Anne Caddey and Peter Lankas. The painting was done on Wiradjuri country whilst on an artist residency in Kandos.

'Been Here Before' oil on paper 33 x 41cm

Revisiting known paths recalibrates ones being.  The vibrations of a place that you have been to in the past merges instantly with your body. There's an instant sense of belonging and knowing a place, as the echoes of felt memory are triggered.
