Patrice is a female artist living regionally on Jerrinja country on the South Coast of NSW, where she works from a home studio. Prior to relocation she worked and lived in Western Sydney, studying Visual Arts at the University of Western Sydney which led to creative work in community health, with marginalized and at-risk young people. After further study in counselling, she spent decades working in mental health, learning support and art education. Post raising a family, Patrice developed a nationally recognised art practice drawing upon her extensive life experience to inform her paintings. Patrice is interested in themes and subject matter around emotional and psychological states using abstracted figuration and landscape. Through an intimist sensibility, colour, tone and painterly marks, her work presents landscapes, figures and portraits that evoke empathy, contemplation, and compassion. Patrice is frequently selected as a finalist in major art awards, including the Archibald Prize, the Pro Hart Outback Prize, and Fishers Ghost Art Award. Her work is accrued in private and public collections
