Just prior to leaving for a trip away I had the chance to wish Uncle Wes a happy 101st Birthday, and also inform him that his portrait would be hanging in the Archibald Prize. I promised Uncle Wes several years ago I would take a run at the Archie with a portrait of him every year until he was selected. He always believed in me even though I had my doubts it would ever happen. I was so thrilled to be able to deliver the news that we had done it. :)
