Patrice is a female artist living regionally on Jerrinja country on the South Coast of NSW, where she works from a home studio. Prior to relocation she worked and lived in Western Sydney, studying Visual Arts at the University of Western Sydney which led her to creative work in community health, with marginalized and at-risk young people. After further study in counselling, she spent a decade working in adolescent mental health, before moving into education to work in learning and student support and as an art teacher. Post raising her family, Patrice returned to working with community and arts in public programming and engagement whilst developing a nationally recognised art practice. Patrice draws upon her extensive life experience and professional background in arts, education and health to inform her paintings, interested in themes and subject matter around emotional and psychological states using abstracted figuration and landscape. Through an intimist sensibility, colour, tone and painterly marks, her work presents landscapes, figures and portraits that evoke empathy, contemplation, and compassion. Patrice is frequently selected as a finalist in major art awards, including the Archibald Prize, the Pro Hart Outback Prize, and Fishers Ghost Art Award. Her work is accrued in private and public collections
