Artist Bio:
Exploring the relational intersections between people, place and paint, Patrice aims to capture her experience of what has been seen and felt through the process of painting.
The work is an exploration of the overlaps between personal response to places, and the human histories embedded in those landscapes. These ideas emerge visually through the interconnectedness of the figure and the landscape. Patrice draws upon plein air and life studies which provide the starting point of forms and marks, from which the image develops.
Patrice has an extensive professional background working and training in the realms of visual arts, education, and health, traversing work in public arts programming and her own artistic practice. Patrice brings this life experience to her work which reflects and explores the human condition and spirit, utilizing painterly materiality to fuse the figurative and the abstract.
Patrice’s work is exhibited regularly, and frequently selected as a finalist in art awards and accrued in private and public collections.
